100 follower GIVEAWAY -- UPDATE: CELEBRATING YOUR BEAUTY

WOO. Thanks for all your support, even though I'm busy with school!
I decided to reciprocate the love and will be holding a Blogger-only GIVEAWAY!

Because I don't know what exactly to give away and, being out of the makeup thing for awhile I decided to give away a VISA gift card! Being an "international blogger", it was hard to find a gift card coming from Canada that would work worldwide....so yea, what better than a $25 USD VISA gift card! Don't worry I read all the small print and they do, in fact work both online and internationally... that means, this giveaway will be open to ALL READERS. I will also be slipping in some small makeup goodies to whoever wins!

*Sorry if the amount is small, this is coming from an unemployed student just wanting to thank her readers and supporters.

WHAT TO DO:

1. Make sure you are a *visible blog follower. I will check!
2. Write a blog post about yourself, entitled "Celebrating my beauty -- Inside and Out". Post a photo, and within the blog post, describe what you think is the most beautiful aspect about you both externally and internally. You can be as creative as you want! I love getting to know my followers :D
3. E-mail me the link to your blog post at shexilicious@gmail.com with the Subject: "MY INNER BEAUTY"

DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 28, 2010 at 11:59 EST. Winners will be chosen both by myself, my boyfriend, and my brother! It will be a videotaped affair so expect the judging to be posted as well when we announce the winner.

GOOD LUCK and HAVE FUN!

... PROJECT 10 PAN!

I was doing inventory of my collection and I noticed I had many dupes and TOO MUCH lipsticks. I counted 70. Holy crap. Because they're taking up so much space, I decided to do a project 10 pan...

I have been depriving you awesome followers of entries :( Sorry, school's getting busy! January whizzed by so fast and now, all the essays are starting to pile up. Being an English and History major, I have hundreds of pages of readings daily... I shouldn't even have time for twitter and youtube watching haha....

I figured doing Project 10 Pan would be easier if I documented it to you. At least, I'll have witnesses! At this rate... my first victims will be lipglosses haha... there are waaay to many to count.

I'll def. keep you guys posted!

You can say I'm plain Jane...

...but it's not the same.

This, below, is my daily "I'm too lazy and tired to mess with make-up" look. This look is usually made for school (because frankly, I don't care about how I look when I'm at school) and also my post-gym shower look.

(I look different... haha maybe it's the lack of liner on the undereye? I also think my cheeks are getting chubs :P I blame Christmas)

Below are the products I used:

Brows: NYX FYEO in Smokey Eyes (Top 3rd colour from left)
Face: Clinique Almost Makeup in Medium and Sephora Bronzer in Bora Bora
Eyes: Loreal Voluminous and Loreal Lineur Intense

Every dollar counts...

A Sincere letter to my blogger followers:

I was watching the news today, knowing full well that an earthquake hit Haiti yesterday. However, I did not see the damage in photos and videos until today. It broke my heart. It's not like this is the first time I've seen a natural disaster -- we all can remember hurricane Katrina, the tsunami that hit Thailand, the recent typhoons in the Philippines -- but to see how much damage was done to the whole country and not just a small region broke my heart. I couldn't believe that after a 7.0 magnitude quake, 15 aftershocks broke loose that were approx 5.0 in magnitude! All this, happening to a population who rely on US $1 a day to live.

It made me sick to my stomach that while I was warm, sitting comfortably in my home, that in one part of my world there were hundreds and thousands of people, just like me who are trapped, dead and missing. You and I both know that crying, after all is said and done, won't really help anyone . This whole week, I've been saving up money to buy the new MAC lillyland blushes, and I realized -- do I really need that? I'm not trying to run all of you into a guilt trip, but my point is, while we, as a country unaffected by something this tragic at the moment, spend our money for things we're lemming for, there's a whole population of people like you starving, lost and homeless. The money I've saved up will be going to the Red Cross. All of it.

If you believe in the power of prayer, please pray for those in Haiti -- they need it.

Sincerely,

Maria

Happy Holidays!

I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas spent with their loved ones! I sure did :) Sorry (ugh this is on repeat) that I haven't been here lately. Honestly, sometimes, I feel like just abandoning this thing altogether because I cannot find the time of day for it -- however, since I still have loyal followers, I still try to make it here from time to time :)

Anyway, there are 4 days left until 2010 rings in. 2009 has been a tough year for me, so I am praying that 2010 will be much nicer... at least a little.

Whenever the New Year comes, I always make resolutions, which I always used to post on my personal LiveJournal page. Last year's resolutions were:

1 - Pass my G test before it expires: ha! I did it :) As of Feb 09, I'm a fully licensed Ontario driver haha
2 - Lose the fat I gained over my muscles, which means exercising big time I continue to exercise haha yay!
3 - Stay on the President's Honour List I graduated college on the Dean's list in June 2009... now I'm working on a degree
4 - Figure out my major Double Major in English and History
5 - Continue my YouTube Channel, sans too many "haul" videos. ...this is where shit hit the fan LOL

4 out of 5 ... still not bad! I learned throughout the years that I feel more accomplished when I make resolutions that are ATTAINABLE lol. I am focusing more on specific things rather than vague, "I want to pass" goals.

So many of you wonder what it is this year? Well, here are my resolutions for 2010:

1 - Maintain fitness : I am a fitness buff... I vow to maintain this healthy lifestyle. It's not even just for vanity's sake -- I am pretty much "thin-bordering-normal" when it comes to my height and weight (BMI 19.2) -- it's for my own good. I want to tone -- I want more lean muscle and I want to focus on toning my abs :) haha how's that for specifics? Zuzanna of BodyRock.Tv is my hero lol. I don't know why I like the look of a ridiculously fit body haha. I'm weird.

2 - Keep grades afloat and *try* not to fail -- U of T is beating me up, no doubt about that. Being the Honour student that I have always been, I'm not taking 69%-79% grades with a happy face of course. I vow to try and figure out what the hell the TA's want from me so that my grades pull up ... seriously. I want my 90's back damnit.

3 - Keep up with readings -- I guess this goes hand in hand with the previous, but I feel like it's separate in it's own way. Anyway, university is notorious for ridiculous amounts of readings. I vow to keep myself on track w/ readings so that I don't look like a moron in tutorials haha.

4 - Save Money -- in 2009, I spent a little too much because I had constant employment. October was the first time in 3 years where I took a break from working to solely focus on school. I didn't realize how much I spent until I saw my bank account dwindle into nothing. When I get my job back in April of 2010, I vow to save at least 20% of my cheques every payday so that when september rolls around and I'm unemployed again, I won't be scrambling for money.

I think that's pretty much it. So far, those four things are the main resolutions I want to challenge myself with.

Enjoy your New Year's parties ladies. Don't drink and drive :)
